Our Story
MySisterIsASurvivor is deeply rooted in the incredible journey of my sister - a survivor of domestic violence. Based in Connecticut, her story is one of unwavering resilience and strength that inspires everything we create.
For over two decades, she endured physical, mental, and financial abuse at the hands of her former spouse. Her survival is nothing short of miraculous - and for much of that time, our family was unaware of her suffering. Today, she continues to navigate the ongoing challenges of chronic PTSD and major depression, yet her courage inspires everything we create.
Who We Are and Why We Exist
Born from a Real Story
MySisterIsASurvivor wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built in the aftermath of watching someone I love survive the unsurvivable. My sister's story - her strength, her silence, her survival - is the reason this brand exists. Every product we create, every word we write, every resource we share is rooted in her journey and the millions of survivors who share it.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide support, raise awareness, and celebrate the strength it takes to survive, heal, and reclaim one's life. We believe that healing is not linear, that survivors deserve to be seen and believed, and that no one should have to navigate trauma alone. Through our products and resources, we aim to be a consistent, compassionate presence on that journey.
The Healing Power of Affirmations
Words matter - especially when you've spent years being told the wrong ones. Our affirmations aren't empty phrases. They're carefully crafted to speak to the reality of healing: the hard days, the small victories, the moments when you need a reminder that you are worthy of peace, safety, and joy. We put them on products you use every day so they're always within reach.
The Human-Animal Bond
Animals - especially dogs - have an incredible ability to provide comfort and unconditional love during difficult times. That's why many of our designs celebrate beloved dog breeds and the healing power of the human-animal bond. For many survivors, a pet has been their most consistent source of safety and love. We honor that.
More Than Products
Beyond what we sell, we provide comprehensive mental health resources - crisis hotlines, therapist finders, support organizations, and state-by-state services. Because sometimes what a survivor needs most isn't a product. It's a lifeline. And we want to be both.
