A Brand Born from Courage and Healing
MySisterIsASurvivor is a heartfelt Connecticut-based company founded in May 2023, born from my sister's incredible journey of survival. For more than twenty years, she endured severe domestic violence at the hands of her now ex-husband. During that time, she was isolated from everyone who loved her - confined to a high-rise apartment, cut off from society and our family, and even told that we were all dead.
In 2017, after he left her for dead, she was miraculously brought back into our lives. She was unable to care for herself, so she moved in with me at the beginning of 2018, and we have been rebuilding her life together ever since.
The trauma left her living with chronic PTSD, along with significant physical health challenges and cognitive disabilities. Every day is still a battle - but her courage, determination, and resilience continue to inspire me. She isn't just the inspiration behind our company. She is an active part of it. She shares ideas, helps review our designs, and makes sure the messages we create truly resonate with survivors and others navigating their own healing journeys.
Our Story: Walking the Healing Journey Together
Our designs and affirmations are deeply connected to her ongoing path of healing and recovery - and to her daily battle with chronic PTSD and the heavy burden of major depression. Walking beside her on this journey is challenging for us, but we know her struggle is far greater.
We understand that many people have felt the impact of depression, PTSD, or abuse - whether firsthand or through someone they love. At MySisterIsASurvivor, we honor those experiences and offer support, strength, and hope through every piece we create.
Our Mission
Our mission is to remind people that they are not alone. We believe in healing through creativity, encouragement, and connection.
